JobX has a secret weapon - that secret weapon is CorBeam
December 20th, 2007 |
JOBX, the brain child of Simon Robinson and Richard Mare, is a new
Australian job board and it is already making the other job boards such as
Monster, Seek, Career one, sit up and take notice.
Why?
The Internet has changed the way the people look for jobs. Today, it is
all about Job boards where potential employers post their jobs and
candidates search through them to find the jobs they are interested in.
This is not the best scenario for the recruiter, because it is passive -
the recruiter or their client has little influence over the candidates
that apply.
Of course, hand in hand with the Internet comes the relational database,
so over time, Job boards and recruiters can gather and refine prospect
data and attempt to manage candidates as best they can.
However, the demands of an evermore competitive recruiting environment are
forcing Job boards to rethink the way they attract prospects. They are
starting to realise that a much more active role is required, but how do
they turn a passive environment into one in which they can play an active
role?
A very different recruiter
JOBX is one of the first recruiters to recognise this change from the get
go. A significant new player, launched with over 10,000 jobs already
secured, Simon and Richard clearly have a different vision for JOBX:
"JOBX aims to provide a modern environment that will attract candidates
and nurture long term relationships with them in what is an ever more
complex recruitment marketplace and JOBX will challenge every aspect of
the current methodology. We have integrated the best search technologies
to dramatically redefine the way jobs are found and filled."
"JOBX also recognises that text advertisements are no longer powerful
enough. The best placements and connections are made through networking,
building and maintaining relationships. JOBX is the first board to
introduce social networking in Australia."
These are bold statements, but JOBX has recognised the incredible
potential of the social networking revolution, which is now being powered
online by video. This is precisely why JOBX turned to Global IP Video and
its corporate product CorBeam. CorBeam has been designed from the ground
up to be a platform for all things video online.
JOBX and Global IP Video are changing the recruitment landscape
JOBX had three core requirements for which CorBeam is perfectly suited:
1. The ability to easily submit your CV as a video post and have
recruiters and employers selectively browse potential candidates via these
video CVs.
2. The ability to conduct job interviews via video conference to further
qualify the suitability of candidates without the need for costly
travelling and the need to rely on partnership arrangements overseas etc
(remember, recruiting today is very much a global activity). Furthermore,
to be able to record these video conferences and play them back at any
time.
3. The ability to interface directly with the leading social networking
environments such as FaceBook, MySpace and Second Life. JOBX has
recognised the need to develop lifetime relationships with key candidate
prospects and is providing these candidates with some very powerful tools
to achieve this. However, these are only the candidates who come to JOBX
through their own activities online.
There is enormous potential in leveraging existing candidates and their
profiles to attract others to JOBX through their active utilisation of
social networking environments. CorBeam easily integrates with the leading
social networks allowing candidates to post their video CVs for greater
exposure to potential clients who are also starting surf these sites.
Candidates are also actively discussing job prospecting online.
It also allows JOBX to create its own chat spaces and even virtual
agencies in such online worlds as Second Life. As you might imagine, the
possibilities CorBeam offers JOBX and recruitment in general are
considerable.
Global IP Video has created its core technologies and its growing family
of video transmission products such as CorBeam, to allow companies to
embrace the radical change that social networking is having on the
communication landscape.
Fuelled by broadband and the ability to use video to communicate one to
one around the world, the online video revolution that Global IP Video is
helping to drive is rapidly becoming the most significant human phenomenon
of the first decade of the 21st Century. And JOBX is a prime example of
forward thinking business understanding how the communications landscape
is changing and sourcing the best solution - CorBeam - to allow them to
gain a very significant competitive advantage in a very competitive market
place.
